Welcome, Structure & Attendance
Welcome!
I am extremely proud to be Chair of Governors of St. Margaret’s. Having worked in the education sector all my life, I am fully committed to ensuring that all children receive the high-quality education that meets their individual needs and I know that at St. Margaret’s every pupil is enabled to acquire the knowledge and skills to support them as they progress to the next stage of their development.
I lead a team of dedicated governors with high expectations. We hold the school to account for its commitment to its vision of Care, Challenge and Celebrate with Christ, which underpins every aspect of school life. We fulfil a strategic role to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our school and we monitor both curriculum development and resources on a termly basis. Also, as governors, we fully support the school’s involvement in the local church and in the wider Christian community.
Finally, as the school moves forward, I intend to lead my team to ensure that every St. Margaret’s pupil is enabled to ‘flourish’ in both learning and worship through experiencing the Christian distinctiveness facilitated by being a member of the Emmanuel Diocese of Liverpool Academies Trust.
Mrs Ann Elphick

The Local Governing Board meets as a whole board once a term. It has two main committees, the Ethos and Curriculum Committee and the Resources Committee. Within each committee there are lead governors for staffing, finance, curriculum and ethos and wellbeing. In addition there is an admissions committee that usually meets twice a year. Some governors have a specific portfolio such as safeguarding, SEND.
